Our Heritage Story

Saman Villa was originally built in 1957 by the late Mr. Keerthipala Ranapura, a respected school principal, as his private leisure residence. Nestled within his beautiful Ambawatta Estate, the property was affectionately named Saman Villa.

Now under the care of the third generation of the Ranapura family, the villa is proudly managed by his granddaughter, Mrs. Amali Ranapura.

In early 2025, Saman Villa underwent a comprehensive renovation that breathed new life into the property while carefully preserving its original architectural charm and timeless elegance.

A New Chapter

The grand reopening, held on 4 November 2025, marked 68 years since its original unveiling. The event was gracefully led by Mr. Ranapura's granddaughter, Mrs. Amali Ranapura, together with his great-grandson, Mr. Yohan Kumarasinghe, celebrating the enduring legacy and heritage of the Ranapura family.

Today, Saman Villa stands as a testament to the family's dedication to preserving their heritage while offering modern comfort and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality to guests from around the world.
